Black Hawk Down
Josh Hartnet
This movie recreates the harrowing battle (1993) of Mogadishu, a 15 hour siege between U.S. Special Forces and Somali fighters in which 18 Americans and more than 500 Somalis were killed. This is a true story. If you don't like bullets flying and bombs dropping and a lot of blood and gore - stay home! It interested me, although I don't think I could ever become a soldier. I didn't know any of the stars in this one - I am really getting old. Its rated "R".

Panic Room
(Jody Foster)
This is about a mother and young daughter buying a four-story (narrow) home with a panic room (We used to call them a Civil Defense Shelter, I think). Three guys break in and all hell breaks loose. Mother (Jody Foster) and daughter run to the Panic Room. They have monitors that show them where the intruders are at all times. I won't tell you the ending. I found it to be exciting while watching it - but I can't really rave about it. Rated "R".

Murder by Numbers
(Sandra Bullock)
Two young men plan killings and test the Scientific Crime Units abilities. Detective, Sandra Bullock, has some hidden secret in her past that has to come out. The movie was good - suspenseful and intense. It's "Let the Games Begin". I am sorry that all these young rich kids don't have anything else to do with their lives then to commit murders. Rated "R".

The Rookie
(Dennis Quaid)
A movie for everyone about giving up on your dreams. Dennis Quaid plays Jimmy Morris, a pitcher who made it to the major leagues at age 35. It's about what you can do if you put your mind to it! I'll see it again and recommend it for everybody! Rated "G"

Collateral Damage
(Arnold Schwarzenegger)
About a man's family (wife and son) who are meeting him at a restaurant that is the target of retaliation for a drug deal gone bad. The wife and son are killed in the bombing and Arnold goes off to get the murderers and avenge his family's death. There's a lot of shoot 'em up and blow 'em up. It was okay, nothing special. I'm not sure of the rating
